Graveside Reads Announcement

Undertaker Books is launching a new collection of novelettes! Called “Graveside Reads,” these slim books are meant to provide reading options for folks who are on a budget and readers who don't get as much time as they'd like for their favorite activity.

“One thing we’re seeing with our partnership with Crimson Curiosities is that more than anything, readers want value,” Undertaker Books President D.L. Winchester explained. “While we’ve always worked to keep our prices low, with most of our books under $20.00, we want to provide stories people can take to their grave for every budget. Our Graveside Reads will help us do that.”

These novelettes, in both print and ebook form, will launch on August 26 with tales from Rob Grimoire and Winchester himself.

“If we try something new, I usually get to be the guinea pig,” D.L. said with a chuckle. “In this case, Rob Grimoire had a story available that fit our needs, and Rebecca and I have been wanting to work with Rob for awhile, so the stars aligned.”

Grimoire’s story, “The Pulse Within,” is an own-voices tale about a family trying to escape the South in the aftermath of the Civil War. It combines horror, sci-fi, and Black history in a unique way.

Winchester’s story, “Dead Money,” is a slasher tale about a roving gambler who accepts an invitation to a private poker game. When he arrives, he learns the stakes are far higher than he’d anticipated.

Additional Graveside Reads will be added to the catalog quarterly, with the next releases scheduled for October.
